Westella Sunday School (monthly)

Each Westella Sunday School explores a different Pinot Noir theme, diving deeper into either barrel aged Pinot or sparkling Pinot (Blanc de Noir or Vintage Rosé) crafted entirely from this versatile variety. We always source four Pinot Noir wines from further afield to line up alongside two vintages of our Westella Pinot. There's always a board of Tasmanian cheeses to share to amplify those Pinot flavours, too.

Our Sunday Schools are small, informal, relaxed and the perfect way to dip your toe into learning a little more about this fabulous variety. All opinions are welcome and we love that by the end of each session everyone is freely joining in the conversation, making new friends and feeling a little wiser about Pinot Noir.  Westella Sunday School is a safe space for all wine lovers whether you are just starting out on your friendship with wine or you have devoted considerable energy investigating Pinot over years! 

You can be sure though, Sunday School will always investigate Pinot, Westella is 100% Pinot Noir, after all.

AUGUST 2026 - WESTELLA SUNDAY SCHOOL - In August we'll be looking at the Pinot Noir from some new labels from around our fine state of Tasmania, lining them up alongside our 2024 Pinot Noir and having a whole lot of friendly wine-fun exploring the defining features of our perennial favourite, Tassie Pinot.  As always, we'll be lining them up alongside a couple of Westella Pinots and presenting them all with a selection of Tasmania's finest cheeses.

SEPTEMBER 2026 - WESTELLA SUNDAY SCHOOL – Join us to celebrate our latest newsletter release, a special multi-vintage selection of our Pinot Noir. We’ll be looking at our 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023 & 2024 Westella Pinot Noirs, in addition to our 2024 Tippogoree Pinot.

27 SEPTEMBER 2026, 1:00pm – Westella Pinot Noir retrospective – 2019, 202, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024

NOVEMBER 2026 - WESTELLA SUNDAY SCHOOL – With party season about to step up, we'll be celebrating our sparkling rosé & queen of a good time, the Clairmarais.  We’ll ring in the arrival of the rosé season thinking about the winemaking that delivers the juiciest flavours for our Pinot Rosé and then that additional step that is taken to transform it into a sparkling. Do the bubbles matter? For sure, they do!

22 NOVEMBER 2026, 1:00pm - 100% Pinot Noir Rosés – still and sparkling

MARCH 2027 - WESTELLA SUNDAY SCHOOL – Join us in celebrating the release of our new vintage White Pinot. Crafted entirely from rich and darkly coloured Pinot Noir, this wine is all about the flavours of the flesh, and the flesh alone!

21 March 2027 – 1:00pm – White Pinot – White Pinots crafted entirely from dark and richly coloured Pinot Noir grapes.

JUNE 2027 - WESTELLA SUNDAY SCHOOL – It’s Pinot season at Westella (okay, given we are 100% Pinot Noir, Pinot is our only season!) but for this Sunday School, we’re celebrating the release of our 2025 Westella Pinot Noir.  Join us for an afternoon of tasting with a range of 2025 Pinots from around Australia for a little peak into how the 2025 vintage behaved in each state. As always we’ll be matching them to some of Tasmania’s most unique cheeses. Flavour and texture will be the key focus for all elements of this tasting afternoon.
